Guppies (2 to 3 years)
The Guppies group is for children aged 2 years to 3 years old. Group leaders are sensitive to the search for autonomy that generally typifies children of this age. Educators support and guide the children within a flexible program structure decided to accommodate and support the varying needs of the children.
Educators encourage the development of friendships to build social skills including turn taking and sharing. Children are also encouraged to begin understanding their actions have consequences. There are lots of provisions for sensory learning as educators’ help children build their ability to focus and stay on task. As the children’s language dramatically increases, their imagination develops and group leaders provide for this with activities that include dramatic and imaginative play.
Group leaders focus on providing positive support to help children become confident about their abilities.
